Someone, somewhere, when commenting on the recently completed militia unit for my Altefritzenburg ImagiNation said they needed some support. So a gun and crew was required! As with the militia I wanted a few civilian types (Minden Civilian workers with suitable artillery kit) and am officer from the Altefritzenburg regular artillery, and a crewman from Von Donovan’s Legion. And ‘supervising’ it all, one of Altefritzenburg’s local gentlemen who funds the militia battery and loans them is family cannon at very reasonable rates…

And for Christmas I’d asked for an Ottoman Janissary Kazan from TAG Miniatures which I duly received. I wanted them in similar colours to the Ottoman band I did for Ayton last year.

So here we have them.

And that has kind cleared the decks for whatever comes next. I shall be at Vapnartak on the 1st Feb buy don’t really have anything I need. Vappa is usually more of a social weekend for me anyway. I’m sure I’ll buy something. Brushes. Paints. Bases. Whether I need them or not. I don’t have any figure purchases planned though I usually treat myself to something from the Foundry Pirate/Civilian ranges…
There are a few options for upcoming projects:
1. I’ll be partaking of the Dragon Rampant game at Ayton this year so need to cobble together a 30pt force for that using my Dark Age bits and odds and ends from the more arcane stuff I’ve painted recently for Devilry Afoot…
2. Some rebasing of my 15mm Punic War stuff onto 80×40 bases for Midgard. Yes, yes. I know I don’t need to rebase (they are all on DBN types bases) but I want to…so there!
3. Return to the C17th stuff… and sell off the surplus
4. Civilians. I ALWAYS have civilians I can paint
Maybe I’ll decide on the day of Vappa. We shall see….
They look great and this is a great idea as well!
Nice. The gun crew and observer make a nice group. I thought you might squeeze a Gateway deserter in there.
And the Ottomans look great in their snazzy uniforms.
We can compare Vapnartak purchases in the bar!
Some great additions with the artillery a great addition to the militia.
Excellent work as always! Enjoy Vapnartak pal!
